중국 사회에서 ganqing과 guanxi의 역할과 영향

Ganqing and guanxi are perhaps the most studied terms in Chinese sociology, business, and social relations. They affect every aspect of the day-to-day lives of Chinese people and have been fundamental concepts in Chinese culture throughout history. The ganqing, or “feelings,” is what Chinese people build their relationships on. It can be between two people, a person and a group, a person and an organization, or even two countries. Good ganqing means the social relationship is solid and strong, while shang ganqing, or “hurt feelings,” means the relationship may be seriously troubled. If the _______________ bond in an individual relationship is called ganqing, then guanxi refers to the broader social network created through multiple individual connections. Guanxi literally means “relationships,” but is now more often referred to as “connections” or “networking.” Guanxi is a personal connection between two people in which one is able to prevail upon another to perform a favor or service.
